This is a charming and rather primitive illustration from Mrs Beetons cookery book from around 1930, featuring a "Southdown Wether" (a sheep to you and me), presumably included for its culinary attraction and not its cute expression. Nevertheless it has reproduced beautifully from the original print and would look terrific a kitchen or even a child's bedroom.
