Very subtle colouring and sensitive drawing characterise this lovely print of Brown Hares in a cornfield, reproduced from a mid C19th hand coloured engraving. The drawing is finely detailed and the fact that the colouring is confined to the animals themselves isolates them beautifully from the drawn background. Very charming and surprisingly lifelike.
