A typical Yeoman composition with carefully placed figures and handcart in an otherwise deserted Market Place. Bell’s double-fronted shop to the right of the awning describes his trade in large letters as “Whitesmith and Bellhanger”.
The somewhat ghostly shadows in the bottom right of the picture are caused by
passers-by during the long exposure. This is a classic Yeoman image of the familiar Market Place and is of superb quality.
