A highly decorative natural history print from a hand coloured lithograph by John Gould, produced about 1830. Gould was a celebrated and prolific illustrator whose work was considered second only to Audubon, and original works are now highly sought after, commanding high prices. This example is indicative of his fluid drawing style and keen sense of movement, and is beautifully coloured with subtle detailing.
